The Do's of Brain Health

  1. Consume Vitamin E, Carotenoids, Fatty Acids, B Vitamins and folate.
  2. Learning, reading, and skill-building. Anything to exert positive mental energy.
  3. Physical activity is shown to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s by 40%! So stay active, workout, run, enjoy the outdoors!
  4. Socialize with new people and friends. Being social and happy is so good for your brain.

The Don'ts of Brain Health

  1. Multitasking is never a good idea. Focusing is key for brain health.
  2. Never eat Trans-Fatty Acids found in fast food, some baked goods, potato chips and other junk food.
  3. Binge drinking causes your brain cells to build up a protective shell that also makes them less active during and after heavy drinking.
  4. Don’t stress! Stress releases the chemical cortisol  which can damage the brain.

Hey everyone, I'm Alex. I'm not a physician, and I don't have a masters degree. I just want to help people in the way I know how - using technology and relationships to make information more accessible. I founded Betteryears with the hope to fill a gap in the way brain health information is distributed and absorbed. Enjoy!
